How a polling-station cell works

The five-person unit that wins elections: who is in it, what each person does, and how to start one in your own station this week.

Elections are not won on television. They are won by the person who knows every voter in a 700-person polling station by name.

The five roles

  1. Cell Coordinator — owns the station. Keeps the register of supporters, convenes the weekly check-in, reports upward to the ward coordinator.
  2. Mobiliser (x2) — door-to-door contact. Identifies supporters, undecideds and opponents, and revisits the undecideds.
  3. Digital Champion — runs the station's WhatsApp group, pushes verified content, kills rumours within the hour they start.
  4. Polling Agent — accredited, trained on Form 34A, present from opening to the declaration of results.

The weekly rhythm

  • Monday: receive the week's message and verified facts from the secretariat.
  • Tuesday–Thursday: door-to-door contact, minimum 20 households per mobiliser.
  • Friday: report contacts, update the supporter register.
  • Sunday: community presence — church, market, chama, boda stage.

Three rules

Never argue with an opponent in public — talk to the undecided who is listening. Never share a fact you have not verified on this website. Never engage in, or tolerate, violence, bribery or intimidation. A cell that breaks these rules is dissolved.
